Batches 7, 8, 9
My acquisition strategy so far has pretty much been "buy what I can". Not because I have money to burn but because I wanted to have enough discs available to be able to actually start blogging this. (The planning stage of this has occupied somewhat longer than the blog makes it look, so the purchases have been spread out across several months.) To be able to write the reviews I needed titles. When you're working to a budget (and relying on free postage wherever possible) you can't rush things.
£50 a batch seems a sensible amount to spend (I'm well aware that some people will think that zero is a sensible amount to spend), and if I can buy more than five titles in each batch I'm sticking as closely to my £10 per disc ideal as I can.
Batches seven and eight were sourced from eBay, batch nine from Amazon. (I'd been given a £50 Amazon voucher - Happy Birthday, Alun! - so decided to see just how many titles I could buy from the most mainstream supplier there is. (Note to self: Amazon really don't want you to buy DVDs any more - everything pushes you to streaming. It's annoying, and given how shoddy their search function is it makes trawling their site almost painful, to the point that much of batch nine was located purely out of spite. How I'm teaching Amazon a lesson by proving I can find the things they seem reluctant to sell is another matter, because they're still getting my money all the same.)
